Re: Puch Cobra - Fabricación De Coronas
Hola amigos Puch,

Hello Puch friends,
I have to react in this topic. Because we had trouble to find the right rearsprocket for our Puch Maxi Cross, I thought about fabricating them myself. I started to findout what the shape of the tooth would look like. It's not just an "U"-shape as many people think but it's a complex form of several radii. I found a calculator on the internet and started to draw one in AutoCAD. Then a friend told me that AutoCAD-Inventor had a build in sprocket-generator (you just put in the amount of tooth and the tooth-size enter and voila!). He also told me that he never drew sprockets himself because most gear manufacturers have the AutoCAD drawings on their website. So we choose the sprocket with the right amount of tooth and just ordered one. Then we only had to make the holes to bolt it on the rearwheel and to lighten it. To save even more weight last year, we switched to Aluminium rearsprockets. We bought blind sprockets from Afam.
The website of the Spainish distributor is: http://www.v2motorsport.com/AFAM.htm
There you can see the catalog for the sprockets for the 415, 420, 428 etc. They have them in Steel or Aluminium for fair prices and they last a long time.
Afterall it's far more easier to make some holes then to make the teeth.
I hope I helped you all with this info.
Greetings,
Mechanic.
By the way, as soon I finish some parts from the drawings of ArqueroMongol I will post some pictures.
